After winning an RM5 million jackpot from Sports Toto recently, an unemployed guy who went bankrupt six years ago was granted a second shot in life.

The 45-year-old Negeri Sembilan man said the windfall had given him a fresh start.

"I had to take out a loan to pay for my heart surgery six years ago, and I became bankrupt after I stopped working," he explained.

"God has given me a second opportunity by allowing me to win the lottery and start over."

On February 28, the man purchased a System 3 ticket based on the numbers. He earned a total of RM5,054,618.40 on the ticket, plus an extra award of RM336.

After securing a bankruptcy discharge, the lucky punter stated that he would contribute a portion of his winnings to charitable organizations.

Sarawak's lucky punter is a 41-year-old teacher. After paying RM2 on a Toto 4D Jackpot ticket on the last day of February, he won RM5,054,618.40.

His winning numbers were 8135 and 5777, which were a mix of his last license plate numbers.

"Although I no longer drive the old car, I would bet on its registration number. I'm pleased that after all these years, this ancient car (registration number) continues to bring me luck, "he stated

"My family was delighted when they heard about the good news last night. We intend to put the money aside for our children's schooling."

The winner from Johor is a retired 69-year-old man. On March 2, he purchased a System 3 ticket and won RM2,540,741.40.

His winning numbers were 5015 and 2888, which he said came from a flier he was handed.
