Due to India's busy international schedule, they are likely to send a second-string team to Asia Cup 2021.

In June of this year, Sri Lanka will host the 2021 Asia Cup. India will also play New Zealand in the final of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) in England from June 18 to 22.

India is likely to remain in the United Kingdom for the five-match Test series against England, starting on August 4, due to their busy schedule and Covid-19 restrictions.

Following the end of the 2021 edition of the India Premier League, the Indian team will travel to the United Kingdom in the first week of June (IPL 2021). They will be quarantined for 14 days before competing in the WTC final.

Team India is currently riding high after defeating Australia in Australia and England in India in the back-to-back Test series. They are now preparing for a five-match T20I series against England.

The Asia Cup 2021 will be a T20 tournament as teams prepare for the T20 World Cup later this year in India. In 2016, Bangladesh hosted the Asia Cup in its shortest format.

The event was supposed to take place last year, but it had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has proposed that Sri Lanka host the Asia Cup. According to reports in the media, the BCCI and the ACC are in talks to finalize the tournament's information.

Following the ACC's annual general meeting, held virtually earlier this year, BCCI secretary Jay Shah was elected president. Shah, who succeeds BCB president Nazmul Hassan, is the organization's youngest administrator.
