The Indian cricketers cleared their 1st round of RT-PCR test and will undergo 2 more rounds before beginning training from 2nd Feb for the forthcoming Test series against England. The four-match series begins on 5th Feb.

The entire Indian squad has arrived in the city already, and both sides are staying at the Leela Palace hotel.

A senior BCCI official told the media that during the hard quarantine time, the SOP is the same as the IPL bio-secure bubble, and they had already done one RT-PCR test and they will do two more tests before they are cleared to practise. At the moment, the players would have to be confined to their rooms right now.

Under the guidance of the w strength and conditioning specialists, Soham Desai and Nick Webb, the cricketers would have to do some physical training in their room.

In a welcome move, the BCCI has permitted players to be accompanied by their families during the hard quarantine period as it "could be extremely lonely".

Vice-Captain Ajinkya Rahane, wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, senior opener Rohit Sharma,, all-round Hardik Pandya have all been joined by their respective families and all of them have posted on their official social media handles.
