Prediction for Australia in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 with full schedule

Published:14 October 2021

ICC is confident

For this year's T20 World Cup in the Middle East, Australia has been grouped with England, South Africa, and the West Indies, as well as two yet-to-be-determined qualifiers.

The ICC has announced the groupings for the men's 20-over tournament's seventh edition, which will feature two phases – the preliminary qualification round and the Super 12s.

Although Australia has won five 50-over World Cups, they have yet to win the ICC T20 World Cup. They advanced to the final of the 2010 T20 World Cup. Arch-rivals England, on the other hand, prevented them from winning the trophy.

Australia failed to qualify for the semifinals in the previous edition of the tournament. The organizers have put the Australians in a group containing the defending winners West Indies, 2016 runners-up England, and the dangerous South African team this year. India, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Pakistan were in the same group as them.

Given Australia's recent struggles in T20I cricket, it shouldn't come as a surprise if they miss out on a place in the semifinals once more. The Australian team does not appear to be strong enough to compete with its Group 1 opponents.

The full schedule for the tournament, which will take place in Oman and the United Arab Emirates from October 17 to November 14, will be released later.

The matches will be held in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Muscat, the Omani capital.
