At Paris Saint-Germain, Mauricio Pochettino won his first trophy as Neymar scored to win the French Super Cup on his return from injury.
Since mid-December, Brazil forwarded Neymar, who had been out of action with an ankle injury, netted from the penalty spot in the 2nd half to add to Mauro Icardi's first-half opener as PSG on Wednesday downed Marseille 2-1 in Lens.
In the first half, Icardi, searching for goals this season, found the back of the net to put Ligue 1 champions PSG on the path to a routine victory against the runners-up last season.
Icardi, who previously had a goal ruled out for offside, put PSG ahead after his header was resisted back into his path by Steve Mandanda six minutes before the break from close range.
In the 65th minute, Neymar substituted Angel Di Maria for his first appearance in 2021.
He put on a convincing display rewarded with a goal from the spot five minutes from full-time after Yohann Pele had brought Icardi down in the area.
In the 89th minute, when he cinched onto Florian Thauvin's cross, Dimitri Payet pulled one back for Marseille, but PSG held firm to hand new coach Pochettino his second win in three games with the capital side.
