Wayne Rooney, Derby County forward said he had tested negative for COVID-19 but after coming into close contact with a friend who tested positive, he has to self-isolate for ten days.

Former England captain Wayne Rooney, Championship (second-tier) side Derby player-coach, pointed out that he felt angry and disappointed with the friend who visited him despite being told to undergo a COVID-19 test and later tested positive.

This is what he wrote on Twitter:


In line with UK government and English Football League guidelines, Derby confirmed that Wayne Rooney must self-isolate until 29th October.

This means that the 34-year-old will miss the next 3 matches of Derby, including at Huddersfield Town on Tuesday and Friday's Nottingham Forest, and the home game with Cardiff City on 28th October.
