Last week, Betway, the leading online sports betting firm, announced that it is pledging a percentage of bets made on the FA Community Shield game to help a charity in Ghana.

For each bet made on the Liverpool-Arsenal Group Shield clash on August 29, 2020, GH¢2 has been set aside for this reason.

Yesterday Betway donated fitness and sports equipment to the eight clubs taking part in the Ghana Amputee Football League at their Design Store in Adabraka. This donation is envisaged to help support the clubs as they plan for the upcoming season. Soccer balls, football-playing hoops, poles, fitness bibs, shin pads and goalie gloves were among the donated sports equipment.

Ali Jarrah, a Ghana football legend and graduate of 'Betway 12th Man,' recognised Betway's contributions to promoting amputee football in Ghana during the handover ceremony. He also advised amputee football teams to use their provided training facilities and work harder to render the Ghana Amputee League more competitive and exciting.
